We'll start by explaining the difference between Friends and Family (F&F) and Goods & Services (G&S) payments.

Payments sent through F&F are not protected! This means that if something goes wrong e.g. the seller does not send the item, the item isn't as described +/or fake, you cannot claim a refund. For these reasons we encourage you to pay through G&S.

When paying through G&S, the seller pays a small fee of 3.4% plus 20p of the amount received (in UK). However, if anything goes wrong then you are fully covered by PayPal and can claim if need be (check out out article on claiming through G&S for more guidance on this). Payments through Buy Now are automatically protected by G&S, so we therefore encourage always paying through BUMP.

If a seller asks you to pay through F&F then we recommend enquiring about a G&S transfer. Its always worth covering the extra from the small fee if they don't agree to. If the seller rejects the G&S offer, then please immediately report them and our team of moderators will take appropriate action.

If you have any questions at all then please feel free to hit BUMP support up. We're always happy to help!
